A lovely bunch of flowers from Sheila for making the peg bags which I have finished and they look like this:
A Kirsty Lewis from Natural Resources Wales (NRC) rang me this morning to say that she was in the car park next to the British Legion building site but no one had turned up yet. We discussed the situation and she said she would let me know the outcome of any discussion with the construction company. This she did and the work force have admitted liability blaming broken pipework etc. They apologised and have been given an enforcement notice. I agreed with Kirsty that as I regularly walked past the site I would keep my eyes open for any further infringements. On our walk today we met Hywel who has a hairdressers on Penny Lane overlooking the river. He had added a comment to my post on Cowbridge Hub saying he had noticed the pollution in the river throughout the day (why didn't he do anything about it?) He agreed to watch for it happening again.
Did a big shop in Waitrose at 6.00pm. It's very quiet at that time. I wore a mask. It is the first time I have done so when shopping but I feel that it is only a matter of time before it becomes mandatory in Wales. I am certainly not anti-mask and I think we should have been expected to wear them much sooner than now. However, I have to confess they are uncomfortable and stuffy. I was glad to get it off when I got my shopping back to the car. How hospital workers and others cope with them all day is remarkable and deserving of more respect than they are getting never mind better pay and conditions. Food for thought.
Jasper seems better today but is not happy with his new diet. I just gave him white rice and a little chicken. He keeps looking at me reproachfully.
