Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1.
I just love lilies! Aren't they splendid! These are on my coffee table in my Victorian jug.
It has rained a lot today. Jasper still not really well. Up again in the night. If he doesn't improve soon it will be a trip to the vets.
Domestic chores this morning but I felt too tired to finish off the peg bags although that was my intention.
Sheila and I managed to dodge the rain this afternoon to take Jasper out and when we got to the building site by the car park we stood and watched them putting concrete into the trenches for a few moments. However when we passed over the footbridge I noticed something that concerned me.
Some of the liquid concrete was entering the river which was not good news for the wildlife. Luckily I happened to have a well-charged mobile phone with me (a rare occurrence!) so I took some pictures. The river below the bridge was completely cloudy.
On my return home I posted my finding with a couple of photos onto Cowbridge Hub FB page and was surprised with the number of comments. I was urged to contact Natural Resources Wales and report the matter. Reluctantly I did so and it has been logged as an incident. What happens now I have no idea.

Care home staff have been excluded from a post-Brexit fast-track visa system for health workers, in a move that critics say could prove “an unmitigated disaster” and may increase the risk of spreading coronavirus.
Confirming there would be no special treatment for carers coming from the EU or the rest of the world, the government said it hoped Britons would fill a shortfall of around 120,000 workers, equating to 10% of all posts. Currently 17% of care jobs are filled by foreign citizens.
The National Care Forum, which represents voluntary providers, said it could increase the use of agency staff, which as been shown to increase the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
Details of the immigration system, which comes into force in the new year, were outlined in a 130-page Home Office paper. At a time of widespread appreciation for health and care staff during the pandemic, the government has offered fast-track entry under a “health and care visa”, with reduced application fees and dedicated support to assist those applying and their families.

This is a little video I took when we were on holiday 2018 at Porthmadog. Ben was shy about getting changed after a swim. You can hear me cackle as I videoed it to tease him.
Nasty Nana!
