Day 36 Andrew Vicari

Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1

Spent the morning working in the back garden and giving everything a good soak although the weather forecast is for a wet week ahead. It will be sad to see the end of the nice weather but we do need some rain now especially down at the allotment where Sheila and I spent some time this afternoon. We have been given some blackcurrant twigs which are sprouting roots so I planted them along from the plum tree and hope for the best.
Some disappointing news yesterday. We shan't be seeing Lincoln and Joni on the Antiques Roadshow. Last autumn, when the programme visited the National Botanic Garden of Wales we took along the picture of the ford in Llancarfan painted by Andrew Vicari to see if there was any interest in it. (Google the name if you don't know who the artist is). The producers were interested and Lincoln and Joni did an interview. However the Production Team couldn't get copyright permission from Vicari's estate so the interview will not be shown.
Andrew Vicari owned and lived in the Wesley Chapel shown below in the Random Photo and we bought it from him.
Here is the painting:
The chapel is behind the house on the right and opposite is the Fox and House pub. Most of those elm trees in the picture are gone now.

This is Whitechapel, Llancarfan where we lived from 1967 - 1986. Originally it was a Wesley Chapel and we converted it into a family home. The pen and ink drawing of the house was done by JIm in 1982.
