Day 13 Conservatory Makeover

I'm whacked today. I have spent at least a couple of hours rearranging my conservatory. It was a mess before but I have also decided that I needed to bring in the tumble dryer from the garage so that I do not have to brave the elements to get the drying done. I might also bring in the freezer if I can fit it all in and still have a useful space to sit and watch the birds.
Of course, I haven't finished sorting it and as a consequence most of the downstairs rooms are a clutter of boxes and other stuff which needs to be put back, sorted, thrown out or given away.

I have rather a lot of printer paper - several colours, card, plastic pages and the like if anyone would like some.

It has been a lovely day and on our walk which took us through the allotments again and Jasper and I met several people hard at work tending their plots. Keeping our distance I chatted to a couple of the gardeners. I think I shall go down there sometime over the weekend and start preparing the adjacent raised bed which is not being used for my vegetables.

I have started knitting a baby blanket in aid of 'The Warm Baby Project'. You will note that I am a great starter of projects by not necessarily a great finisher! I haven't done much more to the patchwork chair cover this week and my sewing room is full of unfinished items going back several years. Sometimes they get refashioned more than once. However, I vary rarely throw anything useable away.

Matt Hancock has promised 100,000 daily coronavirus tests in England by the end of April, declaring “we will prevail” amid mounting public criticism of delays.

Announcing a five-point plan to dramatically step up testing from the current 10,000 a day, the health secretary told a 10 Downing Street press conference: “That is the goal and I am determined that we will get there.”

But his promise fell well short of the 250,000 tests pledged by prime minister Boris Johnson two weeks ago.
