As expected my efforts yesterday to rearrange the conservatory have left me weak and feeble today. Also a slight earache resulted in a disturbed night's sleep so I decided to call off the plan to visit the allotment and prepare the second raised bed for vegetable planting. Messaged Sheila to that effect.
Footled about most of the morning doing light duties in the conservatory. Later Jasper and I went for our usual walk and we met Charles in the allotments. I told him of my plan to take over the second raised bed to grow vegetables and he was happy with that.
Spoke to Matthew on the phone - they seemed to be okay and Tess was enjoying her birthday. She is thirteen today. Sas sent me this photo -
and later another of a gizmo Claire had sent Tess as a present.

Keir Starmer elected as new leader of the Labour Party.
Sir Keir Starmer has vowed to lead Labour "into a new era with confidence and hope" after decisively winning the contest to succeed Jeremy Corbyn.
The lawyer, who became an MP in 2015, won on the first round of voting, with more than 50% of ballots cast.
After his victory, Sir Keir spoke to PM Boris Johnson and agreed to meet next week to discuss the coronavirus crisis.
In a video message released by the Labour Party, Sir Keir promised to work constructively in opposition and said he hoped Labour "when the time comes can serve our country again - in government".
Sir Keir has described himself as a socialist but not a Corbynite, and vowed to keep key policies from the Corbyn era, such as nationalising rail, mail and water and repealing anti-union laws, in a 10-point plan.
Well, he got my vote but I am disappointed that he has not committed to rejoining the EU. Early days.

Various games are proliferating on the internet via FB at the moment to fill our waking hours and in one of them you list 5 jobs that you have had during your lifetime and then add a bogus 6th one putting them in random order. Your friends have to guess which one is wrong. This is my list -
1. Barmaid2. Croupier
3. Typist
4. Virologist
5. Office Manager
6. Salesperson (Shoes)
Have a go!

So Unfair! This is a cushion cover made for me as a Christmas present by my grandson Ben aged 12, I think at the time. It depicts my whippet Jasper looking out of the window at Ben's house at Christmas. Jasper is watching the cats who have been relegated to spending the holiday period outside (there are outhouses etc) because otherwise Jasper would kill them. No messing! When Jasper is outside (ablutions and exercise) he is obliged to wear a muzzle which he hates. Ben, who is a cat lover, thinks that this treatment of his cats is unfair. Life is unfair.
TOT ZIENS! Stay home! Eat Birthday cake!
P.S. I think I have shown all 'Lion of Leisure's' current prints so I am filling the space with my costumes.
