Day 8 Pudding

So, what's in the news today? I see that BJ is sending out a letter to us all warning that things are going to get worse before they get better. Well, I think we knew that Boris! When I saw this clip on my FB page I suggested that we all sent him a letter reminding him of other issues that need his attention. I had a very positive response to that idea. Get writing - you know the address.

Here is the photo of the mirror in situ. I think it would look better if I had painted the fence. Last year my son Lincoln bought me a power washer for my decking which gets slippery. I haven't used it yet. It looks a bit scary but the main reason is I shall have to move all the heavy pots and garden furniture about beforehand. After all this isolation business ends he will come and help me.

As the garbage men didn't take the garden waste this week and won't be for the foreseeable future I have a problem of what to do with it. In my small patch I have nowhere to compost it and I have two large bag fulls. Small irritation in the sea of bigger worries.

Used up some of my bread to make a bread and butter pudding with blueberries. Had it for lunch. Delicious!

Took Jasper a walk 'round the block' today. It was rather chilly but otherwise pleasant. Sheila came with us - she walked at least two metres behind but we managed a conversation of sorts. A few other people were out but we were able to avoid close contact.

I have got a TESCO order being delivered tomorrow which I had booked a couple of weeks ago. I decided to make some changes so went online to do this. I chanced to notice that they had my old address for delivery! I tried to change this but found that I couldn't so rang them up. I was told that they couldn't change it either but they took my details and hope to get in touch with the delivery driver!

One of my favourite authors is Anthony Trollope. I have the full set of Barchester Towers in BBC Radio 4 dramatisations on DVD audio. In order to pass the time I am going to start listening to them.

Anyone know what this is? It's a Fire Salamander which was common where we had our house in France. Further details about them can be found on Wikipedia however one thing that we found important was that they exude a poisonous substance from various glands on their bodies so I had to be careful that our dogs Ginger and Rufus didn't bother them.

TOT ZIENS!
