Day 83 Stinkhorn

Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1

An exhausting day! After a slow start I managed to get the scrubs finished and off to Julia. She has given me another batch of trousers. I emailed her earlier. This was my message:

Will it be okay if I bring the scrub tops bout 4.00pm today? I had hoped to bring them this morning but it was not to be.

Cheers Brenda

P.S I had an extra pocket thistle and haven’t mislaid any facings!

An enigmatic message for the right person but, in fact, I sent it to another Julia who was completely perplexed. I think lockdown is finally getting to me!

Tremendous downpour of rain on our way back from Llantwit. Put my head in the garage - all dry so far as I could see.

I am trying to get myself into the right frame of mind to get dieting. Like a lot of other people lockdown has resulted in a weight gain so something haas to happen. Watch this space.

Boris Johnson was accused of “stoking fear and division” ahead of a weekend of Black Lives Matter demonstrations after he unequivocally condemned the removal of historic statues and claimed the protests had been “hijacked by extremists intent on violence”.
As statues – including of Winston Churchill – were boarded up to protect them ahead of planned marches, the prime minister tweeted his opposition to those calling for memorials with links to slavery and racism to be torn down.
“We cannot now try to edit or censor our past. We cannot pretend to have a different history. The statues in our cities and towns were put up by previous generations,” the prime minister wrote.

Another of my favourite songs. I shall be posting songs for a bit as I have done all my own videos. This is Leonard Cohen singing Marianne

So, what do you think this is? We found it growing on the forest floor in the domaine of Moulin du Clout. It is an Octopus Stinkhorn Fungus, Clathrus archeri. The young fungus erupts from a suberumpent egg by forming into four to seven elongated slender arms initially erect and attached at the top. Spectacular!

TOT ZIENS! Keep your distance! We have a way to go!
