Day 78 Keep singing!

Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1

Trousers finished except for the cords which I will do in the morning and then give them a good press before I take them to Llantwit. I used the automatic buttonhole doo-dah but it wasn't all that easy. The trial ones worked perfectly but out of the 20 I had to do three needed to be unpicked and re-stitched. Two others not very satisfactory. I told Julia I would take another batch - well, what's a widow-woman to do? At least it keeps me off the streets! I don't know whether I will get tops, bottoms or laundry bags.
It would seem that on the whole Joni enjoyed her demo but Jan was cold. It all passed off peacefully and they had no trouble finding somewhere to park. They wore masks and gloves and kept their distance from other people.
I recounted the details to Sheila on our dog walk and she asked me about the time Jim and I got arrested on a Committee of 100 demo outside some USA airbase I think it was. We didn't actually get taken away and charged because we had two young children with us. Sufficiently newsworthy to make the Sunday Express next day and accused of being unfit parents! They enjoyed every minute of it!

A further 77 people have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus - the lowest daily increase since the lockdown began.
No new coronavirus deaths were recorded in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Experts say the number of deaths recorded over weekends tends to be lower because of reporting delays.
And earlier, a scientist advising the government said there was still "an awful long way to go" before the pandemic would end in the UK.
Professor John Edmunds said there was a risk the disease will "come back very fast" if the UK "relaxed its guard".
And he said he wished the UK had gone into lockdown sooner as the delay "cost a lot of lives".
A total of 40,542 people have now died after testing positive for the virus the UK.
The UK is only the second country - after the US - to reach 40,000 deaths.

I thought you might like to listen to this. A friend posted it on my FB page. It is very beautiful  - it brought tears to my eyes. Turn the sound up and full screen so you can see all their faces.

Jim. I think this is the NT garden at Salcombe, Devon in the autumn of 2014. It was the last proper holiday we had together and we went to Devon for a week to make use of our NT membership. A lovely time - good walks, some nice food and. beautiful scenery.

TOT ZIENS! Keep singing! If you can, that is! I can't, sadly.
