Another session today up the ladder with the secateurs attacking the Montana. It is hard work but I must do a bit every day as I have written to the builder to come and do the garage roof when he is available. I also aded some sentences about the gradient of the roof to ensure satisfactory run-off of the rain.
Talking of which, it is raining as I type. Welcome and much needed, although I suspect it will not be enough to prevent Sheila and I making our usual trips to the allotment.
Checked my seeds today - we now have some carrots and courgettes coming up. Shall we have room for all this produce?
Gill phoned from Aberystwyth. They are getting their puppy tomorrow. An eight-week-old Fox Terrier called Peggy. Lovely! We discussed dog training for a while and how to prevent Peggy running out into the busy road as they do not have adequate fences. I think that this will become a necessity.
Finished the hat I was making - I think it's too big. Do I know anyone with a larger head? Probably not.
Boiled the jam up again with a little more pectin but it still hasn't set properly. Will eat it anyway as it tastes delicious. Will do another batch next week and try harder to get it right. Also made another rubbish loaf of bread because I had the machine on the wrong setting. Must try harder with that too!

This amazing picture was taken by Johanna Grove at Moulin du Clout during the winter of 2010. It is frozen patterns in the water of either the river or the millpond. the brown specks are pine seeds - you can see the fir cone in the picture.
TOT ZIENS! Bake more bread! Bake better bread!
