Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'older posts' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1''
Footled about a good deal today. Doing a bit of this and a bit of that. Played a lot of Scrabble online so my brain is razor sharp but my legs don't know that. Took Jasper out for his constitutional but met nobody. Everything was closed. I had hoped to get a couple of ice creams from Filco but, of course, that was shut too.
I wonder, if, when we return to normal that Fablas will reopen with their delicious ice creams. Jasper and I often used to stop by on the bridge and have a little treat.
I thought I might start a jigsaw but the thought of rummaging for the board, the table and a puzzle discouraged me.

The UK has recorded 737 new coronavirus-related hospital deaths, taking the total number to 10,612.
It comes after one of the government's senior scientific advisers said the UK is likely to be among the worst-affected European countries.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said "today marks a sombre day", but welcomed efforts people had made to stay at home.
The number of reported deaths does not include deaths outside of hospitals.

Poem written by Jim for granndaughter Joni 17xii10
Sonnet for Joni
Jumping Joni, under your Titian mop,
a firecracker scamp hard not to heed;
how came there such a flower of my seed?
I who must go before can't keep up;
this moving target always a hop,
skip and a jump ahead; luckily freed
from the traps of want or greed.
When you're not there you leave a mighty gap.
But not your lissom body, shining face,
nor bright intelligence (nor the frown)
nor the chatter nor yet the dancing grace
will bring you such happiness as I have known.
A comely personality is best; that
and giving more than you expect to get.
My health is good; it's my age that's bad.
