Disturbed at 8-ish this morning (I was awake) by the sound of workmen close by. It turned out to be the men fixing Maureen's roof. I got up and dressed and went outside and moved the car out of their way. I want the same thing done to mine to keep the rain out and to preserve the stuff I have stored there However I want the Montana to flower first which should be in a couple of weeks or so.
One of the elements in my tiny garden that gives me most pleasure is my bird feeders. I try to keep up a regular supply of seeds, fat balls etc. I don't get any thing very exotic to the feeders - mostly sparrows, dunnocks, blackbirds, a robin and the odd wren. Occasionally a pair of collared doves make a visit but the hanging feeders are not suitable for them. Thankfully the seagulls won't come down into such a confined space although the magpies and jackdaws try to muscle in sometimes.

Sad news today - my daughter in law in Antwerp messaged me to say that C & A in Brussels has temporarily laid off their staff so she now has no work. The family still have their Lion of Leisure business but I think they will find it difficult to manage. This pandemic is causing heartache on so many levels and too so many people - how will it all end?
