Day 111 Limp! What Limp?

Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1.

Jasper had his first walk with Olivia today and he came back all smiles. I was a bit worried last night as he seemed to have developed a limp. He had some difficulty getting up the stairs and onto the bed. I thought I might have to cancel his outing. He seemed a little stiff still this morning. I think its his pinned led (he snapped the cruciate ligament in one of his back legs as a pup and had a pin inserted to fix it) but he has never had trouble with it before. Perhaps he is getting a touch of arthritis in this damp weather. Anyway he went on his walk and seems okay now. If he continues to enjoy it we can extend to Mondays and Fridays.
My new shoes came. They are a bit bright. You will see me coming - possibly even in the dark!.

Anyway they are very comfy and easy to slip on and off - essential when you can't bend down to tie laces.
Usual walk in the afternoon. Here are the broadbeans.

Last chat with Joni today before she goes off to see her friend Margherita in Italy tomorrow - essential travel, you understand. I don't have to pick her up from Heathrow next week as her parents have other plans. I am happy with that.

Snippet from the News
The UK will not join the EU Covid-19 vaccine scheme, the UK's ambassador to the EU Sir Tim Barrow has said.
Sir Tim said if the UK joined the scheme it would have no say on decisions including on price or which manufacturers to negotiate with.
The UK would also be unable to "pursue parallel negotiations with potential vaccine suppliers", he said in his letter to the European Commission.
The EU scheme aims to secure supplies of potential coronavirus vaccines.
The European Commission plans to enter into agreements with individual vaccine producers on behalf of the bloc's member states as part of the multi-million pound programme.
In return for the right to buy a specified number of vaccine doses in an agreed timeframe and price, the Commission will finance a part of the vaccine producer's upfront costs.
Reacting to earlier reports the UK will opt out of the initiative, the Wellcome Trust said countries "urgently" needed to work together "if we're to stand any chance of delivering global equitable access to a Covid-19 vaccine".

This picture doesn't need much explanation really - it's Joni, aged about 10, in our garden room in Eastgate taking a picture of herself wearing the asses head from A Midsummer Night's Dream made, of course by Jim.

TOT ZIENS! Stay Alert! Look out for my shoes!
