Day 64 Lies and more Lies

Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1

Matthew's birthday today and we had a family FaceTime session. We played a board game and it worked very well. The game involved a board with a map of the  world divided up into regions and a pack of cards depicting various named animals. Saskia messaged me the map which I installed in my iPad so I could refer to it. Then, Tess, who was in charge picked a card from the pack and showed it to us. We had to decide which of the regions on the map the animal originated. One could also use a turn to choose weight or length of the animal. Points were awarded for correct answers. Matthew won. I came last.
During the game the contestants in Antwerp were eating a birthday cake festooned with fruit and melted candles.
Yesterday, somebody asked on Cowbridge Hub for a 'Rise and Tilt ' chair. They needed it desperately for an ill person. I thought of donating the one we bought for Jim when he was ill and which he hardly used. I decided to sleep on it and this morning answered to call but I have heard nothing back.
My energy supplier is Octopus and they have a scheme for paying customers to use electricity at certain times. Today 14.00 - 16.00 was one of those times so I put on the dishwasher, washing machine, oven and bread-maker at 14.00 hours. It will be interesting to find out how much I have 'earned'. The bread however was perfect.

I may try a slice later with some Rose Petal Jelly on it.
I am writing this blog and watching the film, The Madness of King George'. by Alan Bennett. I have the text of the play which would be fun to do but the costumes would be a nightmare.
There are so many nuggets in the News and on FB and Twitter today that it is difficult to choose. I may have to include more than usual.
