Day 54 Masks

Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1

I made some masks today. Here are some examples. They are not medical standard but would serve for shopping etc. It happens that these are all floral but I can do plain or check or more manly patterns if required. Let me know if you would like any. There is no charge as I am using up my quilting fabric which is no longer required. My supply of masks is limited by the amount of elastic (0.5cm width) that I have or can easily obtain. I could do them with ties but that is a little more effort and more fiddly to put on.

Apart from that I have watered the front garden, walked the dog and bought some begonias.

Quarter of Covid-19 hospital deaths were diabetic, data shows
A quarter of Covid-19 patients who have died in hospitals in England had diabetes, according to figures released by NHS England.
Data published for the first time breaks down deaths from coronavirus by pre-existing conditions.
Of the 22,332 patients who died since 31 March, when pre-existing conditions began to be reported, 5,873 (26%) had diabetes, while 4,048 (18%) had dementia. Some 3,254 (15%) were reported to have chronic pulmonary disease, while 1,549 patients had asthma.
NHS England said the accuracy of the data was reliant on the availability and transfer of information by healthcare providers, and patients may have had more than one pre-existing condition.

This is a handmade wooden jigsaw. The picture was painted by my granddaughter Joni when she was much younger and I think it is a portrait of herself - she has long ginger hair. The puzzle was cut by her father, my son Lincoln and given to me on my birthday. I love handmade presents.

TOT ZIENS! Stay Safe! Wear a mask! Keep your distance!
