Day 42 Wilfred?

Notes for new readers - as this is a diary the first entry is the last, so you get to know 'who done it' before the crime is committed! This is a pain but can't be helped. After a week of entries the scrolling will stop and if you want to venture further click on 'OLDER POSTS' and read until you get to the first entry 'The Day Before Day 1

So, they have called him Wilfred. I would have thought that was asking for trouble. I mean, we are going to refer to him as 'little Willy' aren't we!
had planned to visit the Farmers' Market this morning but I started on my patchwork and the time slipped by. I have finished the rows of patchwork and sewn in the zip. Just the final seam to do and the back cushion will be finished. The bottom cushion should be easier.

Sheila, Andrea and I trooped down to the allotment again. I planted the two raspberry bushes, we did some weeding, watering and composting of the row where the plum tree is in preparation for something else. An apple tree would be nice.

No sign of any rats since Wednesday. My back garden is looking quite good although I need to give the decking a good sweeping. The Acer seems to be okay - plenty of leaves this year. However the flowering cherry in the tub is dead - due to the rats burrowing in it. Rats! I shall have to replace it.

Largest daily Italian death toll since 21 April
Deaths in Italy have risen by 474, after 269 new deaths were recorded on Friday, in what marks the largest daily toll since 21 April. The steep increase in deaths followed a gradual declining trend and was again driven largely by Lombardy, the country’s worst-affected region.
UK death toll rises further Another 621 people are confirmed to have died from the virus in the UK, bringing the total to 28,131 – just short of Italy which has so far had the world’s second most deadly outbreak after the US – as criticism mounts over the government in London’s handling of the crisis in the early stages.
