Sunday. Woke early, got up and played Scrabble for an hour or two. I must make the most of it as sometime in June, I think, this Scrabble game on FB is being closed down in favour of a newer version which is horrid. I tried it yesterday. The board is the wrong colour and is full of 'effects' when something is achieved. I shan't play it. My brain will go to seed.
Some bridge friends from the Clubs are playing online bridge but that has never appealed to me. The best thing about Scrabble was that I could have several games going at any one time - sometimes as many as 20 and as the opponents could be anywhere in the world they would not all be available at the same time. I could have a few turns then leave for several hours and go back later. The system worked well. There is also a facility for little 'chats' and I exchanged pleasantries with people in far flung places. I am going to miss it.
Went to the allotment again. Sheila planted the pansies and I attacked the nettles around our patch. My gloves were not nettle-proof. We made plans for future enhancements and chatted sitting in the sun. Very pleasant. We counted our blessings despite the lockdown and compared our lives with those less fortunate - always a sobering thing to do.
I have now watched all the past episodes of "Silent Witness" so I shall have to find something else to fill the evenings. I do have an extensive collection of DVDS and I thought I had "Withnail and I" but I can't find it. It's one of my favourite films. "Belgravia" is on tonight but I am finding the storyline rather predictable although the costumes are great so watchable for that reason.

Muslims are being targeted using “dangerous” conspiracy theories claiming they are spreading coronavirus by violating lockdown restrictions, a report has warned.
Far-right extremists have been circulating old footage to claim that mosques are still open, causing police to be inundated with complaints by duped members of the public.
Abusive online posts have called for the demolition of all mosques to “cure” coronavirus, and Muslim women have been the victims of suspected hate crimes in public during the outbreak.
University, said: “The Covid-19 crisis has been used to create ‘others’ of Muslims, blaming them for the spread of the virus. The spread of fake news online is contributing to this extremely worrying trend.
“While we haven’t yet seen this translate into physical hate crimes, once social distancing rules are relaxed there are concerns that this could be the case.”

This is a Genet or Wild Cat - stuffed of course, and bought at a vide grenier. She is called Jeanette and joined my two stuffed Beech Martens on the mantlepiece at Moulin du Clout. Now, at Medlar Cottage she is atop the tall bookcase. Not everyone shares my affection for these stuffed creatures, and, of course, I don't condone the killing of them but as this happened long ago and I was not responsible I am happy to have rescued them, perhaps from a dusty attic, and display them for others to admire.
I saw a live one in France once. My whippet, Rufus chased it up a tree in the garden and I believe they are to be found in Scotland.
