Very warm today - not to my liking at all and it will not be a good thing for the current situation. The good weather will encourage folk out of their homes and off into the wild yonder to spread the virus far and wide.
I spent the morning putting some hooks on the side of the games shelves for Jasper's paraphernalia.
Looks good, doesn't it? Now, with a bit of discipline, when we return from a walk I can remove his harness and lead and hang them up. This action should remove one scene from the drama that has become our exit from the house. "Where are the keys, where is my phone, where is the bag, where are my shoes - but not where is the harness and lead." Just got to work on the other elements now.
Today we went to the allotment in the car taking the plum tree and gardening implements. We met Sheila there. She has been busy because yesterday in our absence she borrowed a fork and completely dug over the second bed. She also hogs the bucket and won't let me use it to collect any compost from the heap. Anyway I cleared an area, dug a hole and planted the plum tree. We filled the hole up with compost, tamped it down and watered it in. Looking forward to plum crumble.
Jasper doesn't care for the heat either - he was exhausted after his walk and despite the fact that I have put his old bed outside for him he is reluctant to spend much time in it.
Nice to get news from others in our Elderfit group and glad to hear you are all getting on with things and remain cheerful and in good health. Talking of jigsaws I have several (1000 pieces only) available for loan when times make that possible. Some of them are in the roofspace where I am not allowed to venture on my own. I will take some pictures and post them later. However, what do you think of this one? (Not mine) Makes your eyes go funny, doesn't it?

The death toll for coronavirus patients in UK hospitals has risen to 7,978, an increase of 881 from the day before.
Speaking about the latest figures, professor James Naismith from the University of Oxford said: “It is a mercy that the number of deaths reported today is lower than yesterday but on its own, a single day’s number is of no value in judging the pandemic.”
The director of the Rosalind Franklin Institute, a medical research centre, added: “The continuing volatility in daily figure of announced deaths (due to different reporting periods and delays) makes it almost impossible to identify any trend with certainty yet.”

I'm sorry I forgot to stand on the doorstep and clap for the NHS and other key-workers so here it is now.
