I carried on rearranging the items in the conservatory today. Shifting the tumble dryer from the garage will have to wait until I have some muscular help. However, there is still lots to do. I am going through the stuff trying to throw unwanted things away or finding other homes for it. The room is already looking a lot better and I am looking forward to getting some nice plants in there on the shelf. And talking about plants I bought a plum tree from Filco today to plant down in the allotments next to our beds. It will need some TLC and prayers to help it through the next few weeks as plants bought in Filco tend to suffer from early neglect. Nearly every year I go in to the shop and give one of the staff a hard time about the lack of watering and general care the plants receive. Such a waste. Mind you, don't tell anyone about the bulbs I bought last autumn and never got around to planting. "Don't do as I do, do as I say".
I'm starting to think about the materials I will need to finish the unholstering job on the chair that I was given last year (see above). That will take the place of the bamboo sofa that I am recovering. As you can see I like to have more than one project on the go which explains why some things never get finished.
Saskia messaged me to say that her cousin Nanouk has just been delivered of a baby boy. He is called 'Juba' meaning happy dance. Lovely!
Saskia also sent a picture of some successful baking by Tess.

A mass antibody test is at least a month away, a leading government scientific adviser has said.
Professor Sir John Bell, from Oxford University, who advises the government on life sciences, said the search was on for an antibody test that would prove effective, but those tested so far had failed.
Oxford is involved in scrutinising antibody tests that can tell people whether they have had the virus and can get back to normal life – one of the key routes out of the UK’s current lockdown.

I'm normally a social girl
I love to meet my mates
But lately with the virus here
We can't go out the gates.
We can't go out the gates.
You see, we are the 'oldies' now
We need to stay inside
If they haven't seen us for a while
They'll think we've upped and died.
We need to stay inside
If they haven't seen us for a while
They'll think we've upped and died.
They'll never know the things we did
Before we got this old
There wasn't any Facebook
So not everything was told.

We may seem, sweet old ladies,
Who would never be uncouth
But we grew up in the 60s -
If you only knew the truth!

But we grew up in the 60s -
If you only knew the truth!
There was sex and drugs and rock 'n roll
The pill and miniskirts
We smoked, we drank, we partied
And were quite outrageous flirts.
The pill and miniskirts
We smoked, we drank, we partied
And were quite outrageous flirts.
Then we settled down, got married
And turned into someone's mum,
Somebody's wife, then nana,
Who on earth did we become?
And turned into someone's mum,
Somebody's wife, then nana,
Who on earth did we become?
We didn't mind the change of pace
Because our lives were full
But to bury us before we're dead
Is like a red rag to a bull!

But to bury us before we're dead
Is like a red rag to a bull!
So here you find me stuck inside
For 4 weeks, maybe more
I finally found myself again
Then I had to close the door!
For 4 weeks, maybe more
I finally found myself again
Then I had to close the door!
It didn't really bother me
I'd while away the hour
I'd bake for all the family
But I've got no bloody flour!

Now Netflix is just wonderful
I like a gutsy thriller
I'm swooning over Idris
Or some random sexy killer.

At least I've got a stash of booze
For when I'm being idle
There's wine and whiskey, even gin
If I'm feeling suicidal!

So let's all drink to lockdown
To recovery and health
And hope this bloody virus
Doesn't decimate our wealth.

Doesn't decimate our wealth.
We'll all get through the crisis
And be back to join our mates
Just hoping I'm not far too wide
To fit through the flaming gates!

Just hoping I'm not far too wide
To fit through the flaming gates!

These are Gruffalo slippers belonging to Jim. They were a Christmas present one year, I think from one of the Welsh grandchildren. He like them a lot but found them difficult to walk in and the dog sometimes showed an unhealthy interest in them. They need a new, loving home.
